ACTION REQUIRED - Hockey is starting - What you need to DO and KNOW to start hockey
Hello
Stars Family,
We
are happy to announce that we are able to be on the ice starting next week.
If you haven't already you will be
receiving an email with your first ice time very soon. This
year has been extremely challenging and will be very different from past
seasons. We have protocols that need to be followed and adhered to by
everyone.
If your player's first half of hockey registration fees have not been paid, they are not allowed to participate until that is done. This is for insurance purposes for the players safety.
As mandated by the government every player, parent, coach, bench staff and on-ice volunteer must complete the Rowans Law Acknowledgement form. Due to Covid we have created an online version to streamline the process for everyone which can be completed at: https://millbrookhockey.com/Forms/2849/Rowans_Law_Acknowledgement/or can be found on the www.Millbrookhockey.comwebsite under FORMS.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are a parent and a volunteer with a child playing you will have to complete the form for each Role. EXAMPLE: I am a coach with 2 kids playing. I fill out the form for each child individually, for me as a parent, and me as a Coach. In total I filled out the for 4 times. Keep in mind this is not a MDMHA mandate, this is a government mandate to participate in any sport. No child can go on the ice without the Roans Law Acknowledgement form being completed.
New this year is Covid Screening. This is an online form that needs to be completed every time your player is going on the ice as well as the parent that will be with them.
We ask that if your child is experiencing any Covid like symptoms to please stay home. You can complete the form starting 1 ½ hours before your scheduled ice time at the following link: https://millbrookhockey.com/Forms/2673/Return_to_Hockey_-_Health_Screening_Questionnaire/ and can be found on the www.Millbrookhockey.com website under FORMS. These forms are accessible on any smartphone and iPads will be available at the rink incase the form as not been completed. Please be aware with a limited amount of time in the rink prior to your ice time, completing the form prior to entering the building will expedite the admitting process for everyone.
Masks must be worn at all times until the player goes on the ice
U15 Players and below, must be fully dressed with the exception of helmet and skates before entering the arena. Be mindful of transportation safety regulations in regards to child car and booster seats. A great resource can be found here:https://www.omha.net/news_article/show/1124668
U15 and below have no access to change rooms and No Hockey Bags are permitted inside the arena. U18's will be given a dressing room and can dress at the rink.
Players need to bring their own water bottle (Labeled with their name) and sharing of bottles will not be permitted. MDMHA will not be supplying these this year. Water bottle fill stations at the arena are operating.
Only 1 parent can come with the player for U15 and below (no parents for U18) , no siblings, grandparents or extended family will be allowed to come watch.
The Township has allotted us 10 minutes prior to our ice time, to enter the building and prepare to get on the ice, and 10 minutes after our ice time to exit the building. It is extremely important you arrive on time to ensure your admittance to the rink.
For further information please refer to our Return to Play Program https://millbrookhockey.com/Public/Documents/RETURN_TO_PLAY_PLAN_V2.pdf
Please remember that this a new and difficult time for everyone involved. Hockey is for the kids enjoyment and patience will be key as we work through this new process together.
See you at the rink!
