The Millbrook Stars Bantam LL team gave it their all in 2nd Game action in the Millbrook Peewee / Bantam HL/LL Tournament on Nov 22nd. Although the score was 5-1 in favour of the Kanata Blazers, the Stars played hard.
Day 2 of the tournament and another 7 am game for the Bantam LL team. Unlike the first game, the Stars found it hard to break through the Kanata defense for quality scoring chances. It wasn't for lack of trying - solid puck movement by the defense and fast skating by the forwards through the neutral zone just couldn't provide the attacking zone pressure that the coaching staff was hoping for.
Goaltender
Brody R. played an outstanding game in net and was awarded for his effort as the game MVP. He saw a lot of rubber in this game but was up to the task with terrific positioning and a stellar glove. When asked how many shots his goaltender faced, assistant coach Fred replied that it was more than he could count. So we know he faced at least 10 shots.

Forward
Ben S. broke the Kanata goaltender's shut-out bid at 15:38 of the 3rd when he broke over the blue line and snapped a laser of a backhand from the top of the face-off circle, which caught the crossbar and dropped into the net.
All of the Bantam players should feel good about the effort they put forth, goaltenders, forwards and defense alike. A special note goes to Peewee call-up Kyle N who provided a much needed boost of energy to the forward lines.
Millbrook has secured a spot in the B-Final against the Leitrim Hawks. Game time is 5:00 pm Sunday, Nov 22nd.
