Novice Stars Win Three County "B" Championship
The Millbrook Stars Novice Team defeated the Durham Crusaders three straight games to win the Three County "B" Division Championship.

The series, a best 3 out of 5, was very tight and hugely entertaining to watch.

The first game of the series was decided in sudden death overtime, with the Stars notching the winning goal with just 54 seconds left of the OT period for a 2-1 victory.  Both goals for the stars were scored by C. Stephenson with the first assisted by T. Lehmann and M. Robbins.  Second goal assists went to L. Kirkwood and W. Simpson.

The second game was played in Millbrook and was the highest scoring game of the series with the Stars coming out on top with a 4-3 win.  C. Stephenson recorded his second hat trick of the year.  ALso of special mention, T. Lehmann assisted on all 4 goals scored by the Stars.  The 4th goal was scored by B. Borden and additional assists in the game went to L. Kirkwood, O. Hunter and B. Donoghue.

The series sweep was concluded March 8th, once again in Millbrook.  Both teams played with outstanding determination and grit.  Exceptional goal tending was on display by both teams, with the Stars goalie, J. Metcalf turning in an amazing performance to record the shut out in a 1-0 victory.  Earning the trophy and the championship was the result of the entire team's effort with every player providing significant contributions to the game and outcome.  The single marker in the game was scored by C. Stephenson and assisted by T. Lehmann.

The Stars will continue to play some exhibition games and in the Gaskell Memorial 3-on-3 hockey tournament to finish off their season.
