First Tournament Fun!!!
The BEA Bantam stars along with the Peewee LL 1 team invaded the shores of Lake Huron this weekend to participate in their first tournament of the season, the Dairy Queen Challenge Cup. The team has been looking forward to this tournament for a while now and it did not disappoint as great fun was had by all.
Their first game was Friday night and the team must have been a little tired. They did a good job in the first 2 periods with the game being tied at 3 after 2. Unfortunately in the 3rd we just couldn't match the goals of Dorchester and ended up with a loss. After a fun night back at the hotel and a good sleep for all, the Bantam stars were ready to play for their first game on Saturday. After the first period the score was tied 1-1, but then Millbrook kicked it into high gear after that and it was all Millbrook for the rest of the game with the final score Millbrook 7 Blyth-Brussels 1. Third game was later on Saturday. Millbrook took the lead in the first period and Strathroy didn't score until the 3rd when they got 2 goals within a few minutes. Millbrook did not give up though and tied the game with 1 minute remaining. Unfortunately Millbrook could not get the go ahead goal and their hopes of moving on would have to wait till their next tournament. Golden shovel recipients for the tournament were Ben W, Zach S and Taryn M. The team would also like to congratulate the Peewee LL 1 on becoming DQ challenge tournament Champions!!! The Bantams are now looking forward to their next tournament. Next month in Ottawa they participate in the 13th Annual Capital HL Championships. Go Stars Go!!!
