Midget Rep Season Wrap up
On Friday March 23rd, the Midget Rep team traveled to Aylmer, ON. to compete in their Year End Rep tournament.   First game was Friday at 3pm vs the Belmont Rangers.   Millbrook scored 1st in the first period, Goalie Ethan Buck was on fire and stopped every shot he faced, keeping the stars in the game.

In the 3rd period we received a penalty on a weird rule no one had heard of resulting in Belmont being given a penalty shot.  This tied the game up and the final score was 1-1.  Ethan received MVP honours for this game.  Second game was at 9pm that night, and we were facing a team we had tied in our home tournament.  Millbrook had a fantastic 1st period, once again scoring 1st.  They might have pushed themselves too hard though, and not having played a game in over 3 weeks before this weekend, their stamina was not what it has been all season and the Almaguin Ice Dogs had a strong 2nd period.  Millbrook scored 1st in the 3rd period to get within a goal, but couldn't complete the comeback when their opponents scored with 32 seconds remaining.  MVP for that game was Sebastien Hamel.  Going into their 3rd game on Saturday they knew a win would increase their chances of moving on the the semis.  The boys played hard and had more shots on goal than they have had in almost any other game all season but the Essa Eagles goalie was rock solid.  It was a nail bitter of a game with 2 scoreless periods.  Scoring 1st in the 3rd was Essa, but Millbrook didn't give up and with 3 min 24 seconds remaining Carson Booth tied it up.  The boys pressured hard for the remaining time and the Stars bench staff pulled our goalie to get the extra attacker when Essa got a penalty with 2 mins remaining.  But Essa held us off for our 2nd 1-1 tie of the tournament.  3rd game MVP was Carson.  We had to wait to see how the other games played out to know if we would move on, but somewhere around 10:30 Saturday night we learned that the boys had played their last game.   The silver lining was knowing that we were the only team that the eventual tournament winners Belmont were unable to beat, spoiling their perfect record for the tournament.  Everyone had a ton of fun on the weekend despite not moving on, and on Monday the team held a players vs (parents, coaches and alumni) game.   Not sure who the winner of that one was, but it was great to see everyone ending the season on such a positive note.
