OMHA Thank A Volunteer Week
Submitted By Bree Pearce on Monday, March 2, 2020
Behind every team is another team; an entire team of volunteer staff help to run our local minor hockey program.  We are part way through OMHA Thank A Volunteer week.

If you haven't done so lately, thank your volunteer.

For more details check out:

You can nominate a well-deserving volunteer to be featured on the OMHA's page.

One of the ways MDHMA has to recognize our own volunteers is through some in house awards.  The nomination forms are now available for the Laverne Moore Coach of the Year Award and the Millbrook Stars Service and Dedication Award.

The Laverne Moore award is presented to a coach who displays the following; 1. has outstanding contributions to their hockey association, team and players. 2. exhibits dedication and service well beyond the normal expectation of a coach. 3. this individual follows fair play codes, emphasizes skills development and the fundamentals of the game. 4. this award is not awarded based on winning records and or winning percentages. It is strictly based on development and fair play.

Please find the nomination form on our forms tab:

The Millbrook Stars Service and Dedication Award is an award that Millbrook Minor hockey has created to show recognition to some of the outstanding volunteers that give their time and effort to better the organization and its members. Criteria; 1) Volunteered for 4 years or more. 2) Volunteered in more than one capacity (i.e. Executive, coaching, manager, skills, team events etc.) 3) Displays a positive effort towards bettering the association 4) Displays positive and encouraging behaviour 5) Shows a commitment to volunteering 6) This award can only be won by a person once, more than one person can win the award in a year and the award does not have to be presented each year.

Please find the nomination form on our forms tab:

Finally every year volunteers work diligently to create, continue, grow our minor hockey programming for our young stars.  Please thank a volunteer and provide feedback for the season in our 2019/2020 Season survey:
