Millbrook Star needs our help
Millbrook
hockey family…..one of our own needs our support at this time!
We
have recently learned that a member of our peewee Stars team has been diagnosed
and started treatment for Hodgkins Lymphoma, a form of cancer. We are
told he is receiving excellent care at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.
Many
in our organisation will know Kieran Osborne, #17…..and his parents Kurt and
Lynn and his sister Mikayla.
Not only has Kieran played a number of years with the Millbrook Stars…..he also attends Millbrook South Cavan PS. Kieran started his treatments at Sick Kids in Toronto last week and we know with his positive attitude and keen sense of humour he will meet the challenges he faces head on….and will come out on top ! However, we also know that the road ahead will not be easy. The demands on the family time will be onerous and their priorities will necessarily shift. As as result the Millbrook Stars organisation has initiated a GoFundMe program with the first goal of raising enough to purchase a pair of iPad’s for the family….1 specifically for Kieran so he can stay in touch with his family and friends while spending time at treatments….and one for his family (predominantly his sister) so they can also be in touch with Kieran. If we are able to fulfil this goal, any left over funds, at the request of the family, will be donated to Sick Kids in recognition of the support and care Kieran is receiving from them. We plan to assist and support the entire Osborne family at this time, and as their needs change during this process. ….we hope to allow for all the family to spend their time assisting Kieran in his recovery…..AND spending time together. Please show your support for one of OUR OWN….. by making a pledge at https://www.gofundme.com/f/team-kieran?teamInvite=0R7pTUlYMxiBVsOqh2S6WX4F8RWfZlWYkJOqrqBsxMXDjmvA8XWwx23tMXwB3SYB
