2016 Peterborough Atom Liftlock Tournament
This past weekend our Millbrook Stars faced off in the 2016 Peterborough Atom Liftlock Tournament making it all the way to the semi-finals. They played 5 exciting games starting off on Friday and finishing on Saturday! The tournament was very well run and the kids really enjoyed themselves starting with a skills competition, a dinner out together and 5 awesome games!
Each and every player had shining moments! They skated hard, worked together and saw some great results. What a great weekend!
In the semi-final game the kids started off with a lead and fought hard the whole game. Though they lost their lead they fought hard to tie the game up with less than 2 minutes remaining in regulation time! The coaches were just preparing to pull our goalie when at 1:27 remaining in the 3rd the Stars tied it up! Then with only 2.7 seconds remaining in the game a mad scramble in front on the Millbrook net resulted in a goal and a heartbreaking loss.
But our Stars should raise their heads high knowing they came close to beating out St. Paul's who went on to win the tourney division title narrowly beating the PHA Grizzlies 3-2 in the finals at the Memorial Centre the next day.
