Solid Start to the Year!
Millbrook Stars Novice LL team is off to a very solid start to the season.....currently sitting at 1 win and 2 losses....the team has certainly started to find their stride with a 10-1 victory today....on the heels of 2 VERY close losses.
Starting the season last Saturday with a 2-0 loss against CYO Crusaders with a great effort...and a lot of scoring chances. Special mention to our Goalie, Jayden Metcalf who earned player of the game honours !
Following that game up with a heartbreaking but hugely entertaining game in Lindsay, against the Lindsay Black squad...in what was a back and forth game both on the ice and on the scoreboard....we came up just short...but the team worked hard and played very well. Congratulations to player of the game recipient Cooper Stephenson who scored 2 of our 3 goals in the 4-3 loss.
Solid defence supporting our offence led to a break out game for the Stars today. There were many amazing efforts from the entire team. Passing, digging and defending. Michael Field was selected Player of the Game for his heads up play, and effective passing leading to several of our goals.
Next game is Tuesday at 6 PM in Oakwood.
